THIS IS ZURICH! von Vasil Shterev is a tribute to the clubs, venues, collectives, and individuals who come together to create a diverse, inclusive and undeniably energetic ecosystem within the city.
It is dedicated to those who celebrate their bodies, sexualities, and identities, or simply embrace life, despite the absurdity that surrounds us. The book showcases a collection of photographs spanning from 2019 to 2023.

THE ARTIST
Originally from Bulgaria, I’ve been based in Zurich since 2019. My work focuses on documentary photography, with an emphasis on communities. Through a spontaneous, intimate lens, I aim to present an unfiltered view of the individuals who celebrate their identities, bodies, and sexualities.
Since starting this series, I’ve built an archive of over 7,000 images, capturing moments of joy, energy, and unity within Zurich's queer and nightlife communities.
